10/21/15- Top 5 Reasons to attend the 23rd Annual Community Dinner

We know you’re constantly being asked by organizations to attend their fundraising dinners. From your local masjid, to organizations like us, we simply won’t leave you alone! But there are so many reasons why you should be at our dinner this year. Here are a few:

1. See and be seen

It’s great to belong to a community of such diverse and talented group of people. The CIOGC dinner typically brings 1,000 people together in one room, and because we’re an umbrella organization of mosques, schools, and other institutions. As celebrity magazines say: “see and be seen”, it’s about feeling connected to something bigger than yourself. The Council family looks like no other. It’s called a CommUnity dinner for a reason! Get your ticket today!

2. Celebrate accomplishments

Did you know that CIOGC awards top Chicagoland Muslim Achievers every year? We also recognize our valedictorians from all Islamic schools. Sometimes, we don’t realize that we, as a community are extremely blessed, have much to offer, and so we should hold our head up high. We’re smart, talented and good citizens. It’s time to celebrate that. Don’t miss out, get your tickets here!

3. Walk down memory lane with CIOGC

CIOGC has been a part of many fabulous events that wouldn’t have been possible without your support! So we’ll be showing a documentary that captures the best moments from the past year and even more! Don’t blink, you might be featured in it for all your great contribution to CIOGC.

4. Enjoy the conversation

The best conversations happen when we’re all together in one space. We know that you’ll experience one of the best dialogues with our keynote speaker, Dr. Dalia Fahmy. She will speak to our theme of Muslims as part of the American mosaic. If you needed a boost to make that commitment to civic engagement in our current era of Islamophobia, you want to listen to what Dr. Fahmy has to say! These are the bigger conversations we need to have. It starts at our annual CommUnity dinner. Get your tickets here.

5. Enjoy the food

The elegant Drury Lane never fails to impress the taste palate. From orchids in our salads (yes, those were edible) to zabiha halal chicken (yes, we pay extra for that) that’s surprisingly not dry or bland, all the way to the dessert. Last year’s meal was delicious and we expect this year’s to be even better insha’Allah.

#CIOGC15Dinner is going to be epic….wait for it!
