Purpose behind Qurbani

There are no specifications on who receives Qurbani meat, as one doesn’t even have to be Muslim, many of the recipients are poor, elderly, or underprivileged.

What type of animals can suffice for Qurbani-?

The animals must be healthy, free from blindness and chronic sickness or disease or from any apparent ailment and must be of a fit age.

What is the volume for Qurbani?

1 Sheep or Goat = 1 Qurbani
1 Cow = 7 Qurbani’s (One Qurbani – 1/7th of the share)

Who needs to perform Qurbani?

Qurbani is obligatory upon every sane male/female that has wealth in excess to his/her needs.

What day will the Qurbani be performed?

The slaughter will take place on one of the days of Eid.

How will my donation be used?

Logistical costs are necessary to perform the Qurbanis and reach the families in need. Your donation will help covers the cost of transportation, distribution, hire of staff as well as organizational support costs.

When should we give money for Qurbani?

It is recommended to give as early as possible.

The time for offering the sacrifice begins after the Eid prayer on Eid al-Adha and ends when the sun sets on the thirteenth of Dhu’l-Hijjah. Precisely from the day of Eid al-Adha and the three days after it.
