Join CIOGC & Burma Task Force for #Rohingya solidarity rally, Sept. 16

On Saturday, September 16, 2017, CIOGC and Burma Task Force USA are holding a solidarity rally with Rohingya Muslims who are facing unconscionable persecution in Burma. The event will be held at Federal Plaza, 216 S. Dearborn St., in Chicago, Illinois from 2pm to 4pm.

Rohingyas are an indigenous people of Burma living in their ancestral lands. Their citizenship was taken away by the Burmese military in 1982. The United Nations regards Rohingyas as “the most persecuted people in the world,” yet no relief organizations are allowed to operate in the area. CIOGC and Burma Task Force call on the US and Burmese government to stop the genocide and allow for relief to reach the Rohingya people.

To learn more about the plight of the Rohingya, please see CIOGC’s recent press release and visit the official Burma Task Force USA website.

Join the Facebook event page for this rally and spread the word!
