Our mission is to be the unifying federation of Islamic organizations of greater Chicagoland, the leading advocate of Muslim community interests and a catalyst for enriching American society.

Every capable Muslim should sacrifice one small animal as part of the Qurbani ritual. According to the Qurbani sacrificial guidelines, the animal is sacrificed in the name of Allah (SWT).

Then it is divided into three portions:

  • For the donor and their family
  • For the donor’s friends
  • Someone who is hungry and in need.

This year CIOGC in partnership with Islamic relief will help distribute 5 pounds of frozen meat to needful communities across the Chicago land area. CIOGC will help ensure all guidelines are carefully executed including:

  • Following of sanitary guidelines.
  • Proper handling of all meat.
  • Properly portioned.
  • Distribution to all communities.

Muslims families are scattered through the Chicago land area, and it is not possible for everyone to recognize which communities are in dire need of Qurbani. As a result, CIOGC will help with your donations online and use them to deliver the meat to families in need on the donor’s behalf. The donor will still reap the rewards of making the donation. Through your donations CIOGC can help cover all logistical expenses- from

transportation, sanitization practices and most importantly the following of Islamic principles.
