

Secretary
Shereen Hussain was born in India, and raised in the U.K. but later moved to the U.S. after marriage where she has raised 3 children. She has a degree in French and English Literature from the University of London and one in Education from San Francisco State University. Shereen was a teacher for many years and then entered the field of international business. She runs a family export business.
Shereen is the secretary at CIOGC. She is also currently serving as vice president of the Mecca Center in Willow Brook where she has volunteered on various committees such as interfaith and outreach since the masjid opened over a decade ago. She has been chair of the communications committee for over 4 years.
Shereen is also one of the Mecca Center representatives in the Community Collaboration Initiative, a 4-masjid collaborative. She is also passionate about writing and has had a few short stories published in anthologies recently on the themes of identity, race and the refugee experience.
