CIOGC is following with concern the developments after the attacks in New York and Minnesota over the weekend.
We are concerned that 29 innocent people were injured in New York’s bomb attack and nine innocent people were hurt in Minnesota’s knife attack. We are thankful that none of the injuries were serious.
We are further concerned about the multiple explosive devices that were found abandoned Sunday. The police work in finding those devices and disposing them off is commendable.
It is repugnant, if true, to hear that the Minnesota attacker asked at least one victim if they were Muslim before attacking them. Islam values all life.
We are waiting to hear further details of the person wanted for questioning in New York, Ahmad Khan Rahami, an Afghani-American. He was arrested late this morning.
