Curious about when and how each faith celebrates their new year? Then go to the Council of Religious Leaders of Metropolitan Chicago’s (CRLMC’s) “Celebration of the New Year – A Festival of Faiths” that will be held on Sunday, September 20, from 5 to 7 p.m at St. Andrew Greek Orthodox Church, 5649 North Sheridan Road in Chicago. Six faith communities will explain their celebrations and will also provide music that reflects their observance. CIOGC will be participating with a Quranic recitation and a presentation about our new year. Every faith participant will also bring snacks for everyone. All are invited to attend.
In addition, the CRLMC will launch their award-winning Interfaith Calendar for 2016. The calendar highlights 17 religious communities and provides a summary of each of their basic tenets, its major religious writings as well as observances. Following the program there will be food provided for everyone attending.
