9/10/15 – CIOGC co-hosts Interfaith Unity Banquet 2015 at ISNA

Over 200 interfaith guests gathered in the South Ballroom of the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center to partake in the annual ISNA Interfaith Unity Banquet on Sunday, September 6. The event was put together through the traditional collaboration of CIOGC with ISNA for interfaith work.

The theme of the dinner was “Faiths Building an Environment of Peace & Harmony,” and included Nobel laureate Tawakkol Karman as a speaker. CIOGC’s Executive Director, Tabassum Haleem, was the emcee.

The dinner included the presentation of four Interfaith Unity awards. CIOGC was designated to choose two local Chicago leaders for the award and were happy to present it to Reverend Dr. Michael Pfleger, senior pastor at the faith community of Saint Sabina, and to the Inner-City Muslim Action Network (IMAN).
