CIOGC urges the Chicagoland Muslim community to contact Governor Bruce Rauner and request that he support the Illinois Trust Act (SB 31), which prevents Illinois from participating in any federal registry program based on national origin or religion, and protects immigrants in general.

Below is a call script for contacting Governor Rauner to make sure that he knows about the Trust Act and that he commits to signing the bill when it gets to his desk. Please take a moment today to make your voice heard and thank you for your continued support in making Illinois a welcoming state.

“Hello, my name is ____. I am an Illinois resident and attend ____ (Mosque). I am calling to ask that Governor Rauner use his leadership to ensure that the Illinois Trust Act (SB 31) passes the Illinois state legislature, and that he signs the bill. It bars Illinois from participating in a Muslim registry, protects immigrants in general, and it will make me and my family feel more secure in my own State. Thank you.”
