In recognition of International Women’s Day, a diverse group of Chicago Muslim women activists will gather for a panel discussion and question and answer session at the Downtown Islamic Center (DIC) this Wednesday, March 8 from 1:30-2:30 p.m. The panelists, who are at the forefront of Chicago humanitarian, social justice, community, and media organizations, will highlight and discuss current and future work for and with the Muslim community as well as other marginalized communities. The speakers will also share how people can get involved in their work and offer attendees an opportunity to engage with the question and answer session. The panel will consist of Suzanne Akhras Sahloul, Executive Director of Syrian Community Network, Rummana Hussain, Criminal Courter Reporter for Chicago Sun-Times and Nareman Taha, Co-Founder of Arab American Family Services.
