The wait is over! We are excited to unveil two of our three 2015 Top Muslim Achievers who will be recognized at the CIOGC’s 23rd Annual CommUnity Dinner. We are pleased to announce the winners:
1) Dr. Mahmoud Ismail, Professor of Obstetrics/ Gynecology and Co-Director of the Perinatal Network at the University of Chicago.
2) Asif Rahman, Deputy Commissioner at the City of Chicago Building Department.

Each year during the Annual Dinner, the Council of Islamic Organizations of Greater Chicago (CIOGC) recognizes Top Muslims Achievers of Chicagoland. The Top Muslim Achievers are professionals who have excelled in their respective fields and have either achieved great success and/or have been recognized for their excellence. Achievers are chosen from various fields including education, research, Islamic Studies, medicine, engineering, business, politics, social and public service. The total number of awards is limited to three this year. The focus is primarily local, unless an individual has achieved national recognition.
This week, we highlight the achievements of Dr. Mahmoud Ismail:
The world of doctors and patients knows Dr. Mahmoud Ismail for more than forty years, as he is an expert in high-risk obstetrics, maternal-fetal medicine and infectious diseases in obstetrics. He helps mothers with high- risk pregnancies through close monitoring and delivers their babies. And with outpatient clinics that he has opened in West bank, Palestine, with the diabetic clinic being one of its kind, Dr. Ismail has demonstrated to be a caring philanthropist and is a hero for the Palestinian Patients
For his expertise, dedication and achievements, Chicago Magazine has named him one of the “Top Doctors in Chicago”. Plus, Best Doctors, Inc., has named him among the “Best Doctors in America”. Dr. Ismail is also a popular speaker and author. He has lectured at scientific meetings and universities around the world and has contributed to many book chapters. He is also a reviewer for several medical publications, including Obstetrics and Gynecology, International Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology and Journal of Reproductive Medicine.
Dr. Ismail also excels in giving back to the community. He is one of the founding members of Aqsa School, a private Islamic school in Bridgeview. Illinois.
