Inderjit Singh Mukker, a member of The Sikh Coalition, was attacked viciously by an individual on Tuesday night, September 8. The attacker told him, “Terrorist, go back to your country, Bin Laden!” among other things as he kept punching him. See details at The Sikh Coalition’s website.

CIOGC took immediate action of calling The Sikh Coalition and offering our concerns and support. CIOGC, after consulting with the coalition spokesman, got the FBI involved in the investigation and urged the Council of Religious Leaders of Metropolitan Chicago (CRLMC) to stand in solidarity with the Sikh community and other communities and minorities that are under hateful attacks. We ask the Muslim community to join CIOGC in expressing their support by emailing Mark Reading-Smith, The Sikh Coalition’s media & communications director.
