Today at the CIOGC office, we received phone calls of support from the Council of Religious Leaders of which we are a member. These relationships are important. It’s like keeping ties with extended family members, who step in when something happens and when you need them the most.
The CIOGC Interfaith Committee has been active over the past two decades, since the inception of the Council. In 2015, the Committee started Jewish-Muslim and Catholic-Muslim Scholars’ Dialogues to discuss theological concepts at the clergy level, in an atmosphere of sharing and shedding light on complex concepts. In addition, it continued its work through the sub-committees with Methodists, Presbyterians and Catholic faith denominations. The goals of the committee include building partnerships, identifying opportunities to collaborate and sharing knowledge.
The CIOGC Interfaith Committee meets every other month and takes pride in learning from the on the ground work that member organizations are doing in their local community with neighboring mosques and synagogues. To join the committee email info@ciogc.org.
May Allah SWT continue to guide us to bring out the best in us.
“O mankind, indeed We have created you from male and female and made you peoples and tribes that you may know one another. Indeed, the most noble of you in the sight of Allah is the most righteous of you. Indeed, Allah is Knowing and Acquainted.” (Qur’an 49:13)
