1/6/16- CIOGC Co-sponsors National Muslim Enrollment Weekend

In partnership with the American Muslim Health Professionals (AMHP) and the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), the Council of Islamic Organizations of Greater Chicago (CIOGC) is co-sponsoring the National Muslim Enrollment Weekend, which will focus on connecting Muslims to healthcare coverage.

Mosques, Muslim organizations and leaders across the country are coming together to host events to raise awareness of the coverage under the new health law and help facilitate enrollment through the Health Insurance Marketplace.

Over the Martin Luther King weekend (January 15 to 18), the community is encouraged to use the resources available to enroll. In order to be better prepared, join the national webinar on Tuesday, January 12 at 12:00 p.m. The webinar will help you learn more about health coverage options available for yourself and your family under the Affordable Care Act (ACA).

Webinar participants include Laila Alawa,CEO of Coming of Faith, Altaf Husain, Vice-President of Islamic Society of North America, Dr. Ihsan Bagby, Board Member of Muslim Alliance in North America, Lisa Carr, Senior Advisor, Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), and Jesse Moore, Associate Director for Public Engagement at the White House.

Over a weekend dedicated to community activism and service and in remembrance of the spirit of Martin Luther King who said “Of all the forms of inequality, injustice in healthcare is the most shocking and inhumane,” join in the National Muslim Enrollment Weekend.
