Less than one week before Inauguration Day, on Saturday, January 14 at 10am, thousands of immigrant and refugee labor and community leaders and allies will participate in a “Platform for Resistance” march and rally in defense of vulnerable communities facing hateful attacks and policies. The march and rally will display unity against the criminalization, mass deportation, and hate of our communities.
Organized by an alliance led by the Illinois Coalition for Immigrant and Refugee Rights (ICIRR), CIOGC will join the Service Employees International Union (SEIU), United Food and Commercial Workers (UFCW), Syrian Community Network, MAS-Chicago, Chicago Teachers Union, Mosque Foundation, and CAIR-Chicago among many other community groups. This event is part of a series of national mobilizations led by the Fair Immigration Reform Movement (FIRM) taking place across the country on January 14 in New York, Washington D.C., Los Angeles, Houston, Charlotte, Philadelphia, and over 20 other cities.
Register today! Free bus transportation to and from the rally will be provided.
