Chairman Speaks at International Sister Cities Dinner

Council Chairman, Kareem Irfan, spoke on "Muslim-American Perspectives" at the Sister Cities 2004 Annual Convention "Dinner with a Purpose" on April 24 at the Schaumburg Flyers Club. The dinner was co-hosted by Illinois Governor Blagojavich’s Office and featured international attendees including prominent business leaders, public officials, delegates and Consulates General from over 15 countries. Mr. Irfan used the presence at the event of a Muslim delegation from Ghana to clarify key misunderstandings about Muslims and Islam. He also exhorted attendees to increased use of business powers and undertakings to promote sharper focus on the bonds of common principles and values shared by Americans and world citizens of different faiths.
