Finding Common Ground in the Abrahamic Faiths

Council Chairman, Kareem Irfan, participated in an interfaith dialogue organized by South-West Interfaith Team (SWIFT), entitled "Christian, Jew, Muslim: What is Our Common Ground?" hosted by Zion Lutheran Church on February 29th. Mr. Irfan strongly emphasized the strain of morals, family values, and principled living that Islam shares with these faith traditions and submitted that Muslims in America have a strong role of collaboration to play with their Abrahamic brethren in successfully addressing the myriad troubling issues faced by American society in these difficult times.

Other speakers were Father Tom Baima from the University of St. Mary of the Lake; and Rabbi Paul Caplan of Temple Anshe Sholom. The speeches were an introductory, educational experience for the attendees who learned about respective beliefs, how they apply to mankind, and what the three religious traditions have in common.
