Council Members meet with Senator Durbin’s Office

The Council's Director of Outreach Muneer Aliuddin and Board Member LaDale George attended a meeting with the Chicago Director of Illinois Senator Richard Durbin’s office, along with Fred Tsao from the Illinois Coalition for Immigrant and Refugee Rights. Some topics discussed during the meeting with Clarisol Duque were the upcoming Immigrant Justice Convention, the Muslim immigrant community and the need for more aid to Pakistan's earthquake-affected regions. Ms. Aliuddin discussed the issues that the Muslim immigrant community is currently facing and how they overlap with the issues of the Latino community. Mr. George spoke on the need for more aid in the areas affected by the Pakistan earthquake.
