The Council of Islamic Organizations of Greater Chicago is organizing a statewide ACTION! day for the Illinois' Muslim community. On Tuesday, April 17, 2012 Muslims from all over Illinois will drive down to the state capitol to meet with legislators and advocate for a variety of important issues. Last year about 1000 Muslims from Illinois, young and old, took it on themselves under the CIOGC banner to be active citizens and advocate for common good. This year we would like you to be part of this great annual civic event of the Muslim community in Illinois.

 

Event: Illinois Muslim ACTION! Day in Springfield, Illinois
When: Tuesday, April 17, 2012
Time: 7:00am to 4:00pm (Busses leave mosques at 7:00 am sharp!)
Issues:

  1. Education
  2. Access to Healthcare
  3. Arabic in schools

Who: Everyone is welcome to join in this important advocacy work! We especially encourage 8th graders, high school students and college students to come out and experience citizen advocacy first hand!

Registration/Travel: Busses will be arranged for all pre-registered participants.
