Join the movement to revitalize Chicago land’s 46 Weekend Schools.  The Council will continue its teachers training initiative this fall with hopes to empower that facet of our community who dedicate their every weekend to the development of roughly 9000 Muslim youth!  The Council recognizes that through dynamic and creative teaching methods, through the incorporation of hands-on experiences in service learning and character building, through scriptural and spiritual studies that take the abstract beautiful truth and relate it tangibly to the very lives and cultural realities of our young, through the warm extending of a teacher’s hand and an environment that upholds the dignity of every child, 9000 young Muslims will have a groundbreaking experience with God, their faith, and their community; a childhood experience that will equip them with a solid foundation to serve their world best as ambassadors of their Creator.

The first of its kind, this program development session is for weekend school administrators.  As administrators meet the demands for Islamic School programs and provide for students in public schools, the challenges are always front and center and of serious importance to each institution.
The session will explore the weekend school challenges and solutions as we enter the 21st century in a global society. Some of the topics include the administration’s role in school development, administrative rules, curriculum, instruction, teacher preparation, assessment, student retention, social issues, cultural influences, parental support, and parental involvement.
